Where Outrageous Scenarios Meet Iconic Rock Lyrics

RULES
GAME OBJECTIVE
Provide the funniest lyric from your purple cards as an answer to the read black scenario card. Earn the most Scenario Cards by the end of the game to win.
Black Cards = Scenario Cards - Adult situation
Purple Cards = Trivia Cards - Lyric & Trivia which is what players select to answer the scenario card
SETUP
Choose a player to be the first DJ/reader.
Shuffle the black Scenario Cards and place them face down in a draw pile.
Deal 5 purple Trivia Cards to each player.
HOW TO PLAY
The DJ only reads the black scenario card and judges the round under Method 1. (see Methods below).
The DJ draws and reads the top black Scenario Card aloud.
Each player (except the DJ) chooses 1 purple Trivia Card from their hand that they think creates the funniest answer to the scenario.
Going clockwise from the DJ, each player reads their selected response aloud.
Tip: Acting out your answer, singing it, or delivering it dramatically is encouraged and usually makes the game even more entertaining.
For added effect, the DJ should re-read the Scenario Card before each player reveals their response.
After all responses have been read, determine the winning response ( DJ or Group) using one of the Methods of Play listed below.
The player with the winning response receives the Black Scenario Card as a point.
The DJ then asks if any player whats to steal by naming the title of the song and artist for the winning lyric. (see How to Steal)
A stealing player must name title and song (both) collectively as one answer to win.
After each round players draw 1 new purple Trivia Card so they once again have 5 cards in hand.
The DJ role passes clockwise to the next player, who begins the next round.
CARD EXCHANGE OPTION
All disclosed purple cards in that round are discarded, AND players may discard 1 more unwanted purple Trivia Card from their hand and immediately draw a replacement card. This provides the opportunity to pick up 2 new cards while maintaining 5 in hand.
This is optional. Replacement cards may be used once per round.
HOW TO STEAL
Before the DJ awards the Black Scenario Card to the winning player, the DJ offers a Steal Opportunity. Any player can steal other than DJ (DJ method).
The funniest answer WINNER reads the following clues from the winning purple Trivia Card:
• Lyric
• Year
• Album
Any player may attempt to steal by correctly identifying BOTH:
• Song Title
• Artist/Band
IMPORTANT
To successfully steal, the player must correctly answer BOTH the Song Title and the Artist/Band.
The winning player who is reading their trivia card should ONLY announce whether the attempt is a WIN or FAIL.
The winning player (for funniest answer) should not reveal whether only one part of the answer is correct, as this would give other players an unfair advantage.
If the steal attempt is successful, that player receives the black Scenario Card instead of the original winner (funniest answer).
SCORING
Each Scenario Card won is worth 1 point.
Keep your won Scenario Cards face up in front of you so everyone can track the score.
WINNING THE GAME
Before starting, players should agree on one of the following:
• Play a set number of rounds (recommended: 3-5)
OR
• Play until a player earns a predetermined number of black Scenario Cards.
The player with the most black Scenario Cards at the end of the game wins.
METHODS OF PLAY
Each new dealer can decide which style of play for their round.
METHOD 1 – DJ'S CHOICE
The DJ alone chooses the funniest response and awards the Scenario Card. The DJ does not participate other than faciliate the rules.
METHOD 2 – GROUP VOTE
After all responses are read, the group collectively decides which response is the funniest. That player receives the black Scenario Card.
The DJ can participate in the steal since there was no participation in choosing the funniest answer. The DJ asks if a player wants to steal and finishes the round.
